In the morning, enjoy a city tour in Curitiba. The city is a world leader in urban planing and eco-friendly living, being considered Brazil's "Model City". With dozens of parks and an average green space of 55 m2 per inhabitant, the city enjoys one of Brazil's highest standards of living.
From Curitiba, your guide will drive you through the scenic Graciosa Road to Morretes, a lovely colonial town on the foothill of the magnificent Serra do Mar (Atlantic Mountail Range).
In Morretes, enjoy a delicious typical meal - "barreado" - beef stew served with cassava flour, banana slices, rice and orange slices.
In the afternoon you will enjoy the views from the train in the track between Morretes and Curitiba.
The single-track line through the Serra do Mar is one of the highlights of Paraná. Opened in 1880, it was one of the biggest engineering challenges of the era. The track starts in Curitiba 934 metres above the ocean, and ends in Morretes just a couple of metres above sea level. The distance to Morretes is approximately 70 km. It is considered one of the most impressive train rides of the world through the dense, lush tropical vegetation of the Atlantic Rain Forest with breathtaking views of numerous bridges and landscapes.
