Ilha do Mel Intensive Private
This tour is made for travellers that prefer the comfort of private transfers with a bilingual guide on the way to the island and back. If you are willing to stay longer on the island, you can book extra nights in the wished Ilha do Mel hotel.
The island is perfect for nature lovers and hikers. On Ilha do Mel, there are no cars and people get from one point to the next by foot or by boat. The piers are located at the beaches Brasília and Encantadas, where most of the Pousadas and restaurants are also established.
On Ilha do Mel, there are around 1,000 inhabitants. There are two wards and police stations, a school that goes up to eighth grade and several shops. More than 90% of the island is under "conservation of nature" and there is no "luxury" that visitors should expect. A major pampering is the direct contact with nature. There is ample time for impressive hiking.
This place was once a fishing island, but since the 70's, it has turned into a favourite place for sun and nature lovers. During the holiday months (mid-December to mid-February), most visitors are Brazilians and during the other months there are visitors from all over the globe.
The maximum number of visitors per day is around 5000 and during the summer months, there might be a problem reaching the island without an advance reservation (tour or accommodation).
