Private nature reserve of Sebuí

Enzo, an Italian from Rome, is the owner of this privately preserved area, located approximately 30 minutes by boat from Guaraqueçaba. Enzo is a nature lover and has worked in several countries before deciding to fix his residence in Brazil with his family. He is responsible for an area is 400 hectares along the bay of "dos Pinheiros", with an impressive natural diversity.

On paths throughout the forest visitors will gain some knowledge about the ecological system of the region and can visit several waterfalls. Until the first waterfall the way is relatively easy, later on it will become more tiring but never dangerous. The rewards of all this effort will be a soothing bath in the crystal-clear water.

On an artificial boardwalk, the visitors can observe the flora and fauna, and learn about the importance of the mangrove as well as the sea. Here, you are able to see dolphins, toucans, monkeys, macaws, parrots, capybaras and many more. You will also see numerous of bromeliads and orchids

In the center of the nature reserve there is a building were you find the kitchen, a lounge, shower and bathroom, a deck for tents and hammocks on the veranda. Also, there are two little chalets which have two bunk beds, a toilet and a basin. All sleeping accommodations is protected by mosquito nets. The main building has drinking water and energy provided by solar cells.

For those who prefer a more direct contact to the nature, there exist two tree houses beyond the refuge. On two levels you have a double bed and a toilet. Instead of walls there are mosquito nets installed, which keep the insects outside, but let all the noises of the forest in and gives you a good overview of the environment. Electricity is not available here, only candle light.

The good tasting meals are based on fish and will be served in a very traditional way. The reservation is not for people who prefer luxury, but people who are looking for a close contact to the overwhelmingly beautiful nature of the region.

Superagüi

The nature reserve of Superagüi has in total 33.998 hectares and includes the Ilha do Superagüi, the Ilha das Peças, o Vale do Rio dos Patos and the Ilhas do Pinheiro and Pinheirinho. There are still many fishermen living on the island and the structure is very simple. Beyond this is a perfect place to spend an afternoon on the lonely beaches or to observe the return of the papagaios-de-cara-roxa at the end of the day (purple-faced parrots). The beach "Deserta" on the Ilha do Superagüi is the main attraction of the region, with its 38 kms of deserted, white sand.

Nature reserve of Sebuí and Superagüi

Day 1: Transfer from the hotel over the scenic Estrada da Graciosa and after through a country road to Tagaçaba. There you will have a typical lunch, usually fish. From there you travel on by boat to the nature reserve of Sebuí. On the late afternoon you do canoeing on the river Sebuí. Dinner and overnight stay in the Sebuí    .
** If you wish, the trip from Curitiba to Morretes might be done by train. In this case, add R$ 60,- per person for the train ticket and ask for this additional service in your booking **

Day 2: In the morning trekking to the three waterfalls and time to take a bath. Lunch in the refugee. On the afternoon you leave by boat to Superagüi where you have time to walk, to swim or take a sunbath at the beach Deserta. With the dusk you can see the return of the parrots which are hiding for there sleeping places on the Ilha dos Pinheiros. Afterwards return to the refugee. Dinner and overnight stay in Sebuí.

Day 3: The mornng for your free disposal. You can swim in the river of Sebuí, undertake another trekking or just relax in one of the hammocks on the veranda. Lunch in the refugee. Later on return to Guaraqueçaba and continuation by boat to Paranaguá. Return to Curitiba in a pick-up or van.

Important!!! The transfer by boat from Tagaçaba to Guaraqueçaba is only possible during high tides. At low tides the transfer will be made with the regular boat from Paranaguá.
