Rockefeller Hotel Curitiba
Sustainability
The Slaviero Hotels are a local chain created and administrated by a traditional family from Paraná, the Slaviero family. The first hotel owned by the family was the Slaviero Palace Hotel located in the heart of the city. Since then, the chain has grown and nowadays the group has hotels in cities other than Curitiba, such as Arapongas, Ponta Grossa, São Paulo and Joinville.

Main area of focus in Caring for the Destination:
Preserving culture and history through architecture
Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative:
The building, on which Curitiba hotel Rockefeller is located, was formerly an apartment house for employees of a railroad company. The building was closed for many years and the area was in bad conditions.
When Estação Mall, which keeps the old train station as part of its architecture, was built, the Slaviero local hotel chain saw the chance of a complete renovation of this ancient building and has transformed it into a modern and comfortable hotel. The facade was kept and its interior kept much of its original charm.
