Sailing in Paranas Coast (from Curitiba) - 3 days

The sailboat "Zen" and its captain, Denilson, will show you some hidden spots on the coast of Paraná. You will have the chance to get in touch with locals and experience the hidden nature of the region. Paranaguá Bay is surely one of the most beautiful places on the coast of Brazil, with mountains covered by Atlantic Rain Forest, channels, islands, mangroves and small villages where fishermen still uphold old traditions.

You can choose between several options of routes, leaving from Curitiba and taking the boat from Paranaguá. On the way, Denilson will stop by a supermarket, where you can buy what you prefer and prepare your own meals on board if you wish. You can also stop for lunch or dinner on a quiet island or request fresh oysters over the radio; local fishermen will bring it on board!

Denilson is very aware of his responsibilities and will change the route if necessary to ensure your comfort and safety.

Route 1 - Ilha dos Papagaios, Superagui e Puruquara

Day 1 Ilha dos Papagaios

We will leave Curitiba in the morning and will reach Paranaguá, where our sailing tour will start. We will sail by Ilha da Cotinga, Paranaguá Harbour, Ilha das Cobras, Ilha do mel and northern Ilha das Pecas. For lunch we will stop for barbecue at Vila de Tibicanga. In the afternoon we will sail to Pinheiros Bay and will stop by Ilha dos Papagaios to watch the sunset. Here you will see an impressive nature show, as thousands of parrots (papagaio) return home. Dinner is at Vila de Bertioga.

Day 2 Superagui

After breakfast, we will sail to Barra do Superagui, on a tour of Pinheiros Bay. Lunch in Vila do Superagui, with wonderful views of the beach. This place is very quiet, a National Park with a fishing village. From here you can view Ilha das Pecas, Barra do Superagui and Ilha das Palmas and do Mel. In the afternoon we will sail until sundown in Puruquara See. Here we can buy the best fish and oysters on the coast of Paraná. We can prepare them on board.

Day 3 Puruquara

After breakfast, depending on the tide, we can make a visit to the waterfall Puruquara for a refreshing swim. We will sail to Ilha das Pecas for lunch near the Dolphin Bay. After enjoying the beach, we will sail back to Paranaguá and then transfer back to Curitiba.

Route 2 - Ilha do Mel, Guaraqueçaba e Ilha das Peças

Day 1 Ilha do Mel

We will leave Curitiba in the morning and will reach Paranaguá, where our sail tour will start. We will sail to Ilha da Cotinga, arriving for lunch at Ilha do Mel (Encantadas). In the afternoon we will sail to Ilha das Pecas for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2 Guaraqueçaba and Salto do Morato

After breakfast, we will sail to the historical town of Guaraquecaba, passing by Laranjeiras bay. We will have lunch in a restaurant in the central square of this small town. In the afternoon we can go to Salto Morato (optional), a wonderful nature reserve with a 130 m high waterfall in the middle of the Atlantic Rain Forest. We will then return for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3 Ilha das Pecas

After breafast we will sail to Ilha das Pecas. We will have lunch near a bay where dolphins join us to eat. After enjoying the beach, we will sail back to Paranaguá. Return by car to Curitiba.

Fuel (charged depending on the consumption - calculate max. R$ 50 per person), food and beverages on board (a stop at the supermarket will be made!), tips, meals, personal expenses, transportation to Salto Morato and entrance fee, etc.

The sailboat - Zen

Built in1990 and bought by Denilson in 2004, this Brasilia-Boat is 32 feet long and can accommodate four people plus the captain. It has a small kitchen with oven and your evening might be quite fun with one of the 40 different board games available.

The captain

Denilson Padilha Fuchs is 40 years old and was born in Curitiba. He has owned sail boats since 1998 and sailing along the coast of Paraná is his passion. Since 2006 he has been chartering his boat for tourists and local families looking for adventure and contact with the sea. Denilson considers safety the number one priority during his tours and you will be in good hands with him. He speaks some English and will be delighted to tell you about the places you will be visiting.
