Caring for destination
Main area of focus in Caring for the Destination:
Nature and culture preservation
Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative:
The area where the train tour takes place is in the Atlantic Rain Forest, one of the most endangered forests in the world. There is only 3% of the forest left and the largest part is in this area. Thousands of tourists from all over the world get the chance to see this beautiful forest and are informed about its importance during the tour. Another aspect is that the railroad is historic (built 1880-1885) and by taking the tour you will be able to contribute to its maintenance.
You should go directly to the train station (behind the bus station) and exchange your electronic ticket at BWT Operadora (inside the train station) for a yellow ticket. The address is: Av. Affonso Camargo, 330.
We also offer this tour as a private tour, as join-in tour in the tourist and executive categories, in the deluxe train Great Brazil Express or you can buy only the train ticket (turista categories).
